Finally, he spots someone sitting in a truck. He heads on into the quaint, empty town, getting more freaked out. Oh… and I just noticed he’s got black dress shoes on. He claims to be very hungry, but doesn’t dig into those pies sitting in Grandma’s Cafe oven. He leaves the cafe, after sipping coffee and munching on a sausage (?) that appears to be sitting out on the counter (yuck). He’s got perfectly coiffed hair for a guy about to loose his marbles. He shouts, “Customer! Customer out front! He’s got ”$2.85 of AMERICAN money to spend!“ The coffee is still peculating, and he accidentally breaks the clock as he serves himself a cup. The cafe is empty, of course, and he shouts around looking for the owner (peeking into a back yard that looks like a low population garbage dump). He walks into a country cafe with some swinging jazz music playing on a jukebox. couldn’t find an Air Force jumpsuit that actually fit, or pants with short legs were all the rage in 1959. He’s got on an Air Force jumpsuit with high-water pant legs. On the open, our hero walks alone on a country road.
This original intro I think is better… painting of a creepy cave, a desert/other planet scene, stars & sky fading down into the story. I guess the later episodes had the intro I remember - with the spinning clock and the door opening into nowhere. The episode opens with a creepier intro than I remember.
